Hello Renaissance Rebecca Subscribers and Friends–
You may have noticed that I haven’t posted on this blog since Nov 22, 2024. This is because I’m working on something new and am writing on a different platform once per week.
I want to keep reading your stuff–how do I sign up?
- If you received this message directly to your email inbox, no need to sign up.
- I’ve already moved your email over to my new platform (thecaminocalls.substack.com).
- You’ll get a welcome email from me shortly.
- You’ll get a new post to your inbox every Sunday.
- If you’ve come to this post in any other way, just go to https://thecaminocalls.substack.com to sign up for my new blog.
What’s this new thing you’re doing?
I now have a business helping people plan their walks on the Camino de Santiago (TheCaminoCalls.com). After twelve years of walking Caminos, volunteering on the Camino, and now living on the Camino, I want to be able to help more people have the incredible experience of walking one of the Camino routes.
- I specifically work with people over 45 — the ones who, in general, don’t want to stay in hostels and most of whom don’t want to carry a backpack.
- I find there are a lot of resources about the Camino these days and it can be overwhelming to plan. And most of those resources are targeted to those staying in hostels and carrying backpacks–which isn’t the only way to do the Camino de Santiago.
- There’s also some misinformation out there or information from people who’ve done just one or two Caminos.
- So instead of wading through all of this, people can now work with me to custom plan their Camino in a way that meets their needs.

Go to TheCaminoCalls.com for more information.
This sounds wonderful! What can I do to help?
- If you know of anyone who’s planning a walk on the Camino please forward this email to them. They can then subscribe by clicking here.
- Please help me grow! On the top of every post you’ll receive, click on one or more of the buttons circled in orange in the picture below.
- The heart is a like.
- The conversation bubble lets you leave a comment (or you can just reply to the email with your comment).
- The one with the arrow will give you a bunch of ways to share this post with others (via email, on Facebook, or LinkedIn–or you can just forward the email).
- The double arrow icon is a feature of the Substack platform. If you’re on Substack, you can “restack” my post by clicking this button.
I would be so grateful if you’d click on one of these buttons every time you read one of my posts!
Secondly, if you know of any groups who would welcome a live, virtual presentation on the Camino and how their members can plan one, do please let me know and I’ll get in touch with them. (E.g. if you’re part of any group of active people 45+, if you’re part of a book group who may want to read a book about the Camino and then have me talk about it, if you are part of a faith or community group whose members may be interested in doing a Camino, etc.)
Will you only be writing about the Camino?
Most of what I write will be related to the Camino somehow or related to my life here in Spain. Which is pretty much what RenaissanceRebecca has been about for quite a few years now!
Is RenaissanceRebecca going away?
Not at this point. All my old posts will stay here for now. I have plans to bring them over to the new site or repurpose them there, so you may see some of that content in a future post.
I have another question. . .
Great!
- Comment on one of my posts and I can answer you there.
- Or simply reply to this email or any others I send and I’ll be happy to answer it.
Thank you, thank you for all of your support over these years. Looking forward to interacting with you more on my new site!

Congratulations
Congratulations on your new venture! Happy you found your passion! Me too! I found painting a few years ago and an online teacher during Covid. Nice to know we both found or created our ultimate “entrepreneurial pursuit “ as Barbara encouraged us to do!

Congrats on your new business. A great idea. I sent your email to many people I think could be helpful and will share your news. I love to see how you have grown since those early days when we met.
